The Art Clay Level 1 Certification course is designed to greatly extend the skills and techniques of a student of silver metal clay through seven different projects. On successful completion, students are certified by Art Clay World Guild UK to teach Introductory level courses if they wish, and qualify for a discount when purchasing Art Clay Products.

The Art Clay Level 1 Certification Course is taught by a Senior Art Silver Clay instructor, following the curriculum developed in Japan by the DAC Creative Studios of Aida Chemical Industries. Holders of the Level 1 Certificate are qualified to teach Art Clay Introductory Classes with the support of Art Clay World UK and entitled to purchase Art Clay products at discount.

This is an intensive course over three days in which students cover all the basic techniques including varoius methods of ring-making, pendants, stone and pearl setting, burnishing, filigree work with a syringe, hollow core items, firing and polishing.

As a variety of Art Clay products are used students also become familiar with handling silver clay in its different forms and formulations.

There are seven projects covered on this course, and the Certificate is awarded when you have successfully completed all the course projects to the required standard. If you fail to achieve the required standard during the course , you may remake the piece(s) for resubmission within 30 days.

The price includes a small toolkit which you will keep and all necessary materials including 80g of Art Clay Silver in various forms; stones, pearls, and pure silver findings. In addition, there is a set of course notes for students to keep.
