COURSE OUTLINE
AS
The course is made up of 2 units:

Unit 1
Art & Design coursework: explores the language and techniques of Art & Design

Unit 2
Art & Design externally set assignment (exam). Areas covered include illustration, packaging design, advertising, photography and typography. The Advanced Subsidiary Art and Design course may be used in one of two ways:
  • as a final qualification, allowing candidates to broaden their studies and to defer decisions about specialism.
  • as the first half (50%) of an Advanced Level qualification, which must be completed before a full A Level can be awarded.
A2
The full qualification is made up of the two AS units as above, plus two more unit studies at a higher level. These comprise:

Unit 3
Art and Design Coursework: your own practical work through the exploration of the language and techniques of Art & Design, and a 3000 word written personal study.

Unit 4
Art & Design externally set assignment (exam).
