The Art of Lasers

On this course you will be guided through the use of Adobe Illustrator, the industry-leading graphic creation program, via a series of projects that will teach you all the tools you need to create perfect artwork suitable for a wide range of laser projects. You will learn how to:

– create vector graphics from scratch, using the pen tool, shapebuilding, pathfinding and more

– prepare images for engraving, including adjusting levels to generate 3D relief images

– use Illustrator’s powerful pattern and brush creation tools to quickly create artistic effects

– create and modify text for production, including stencil-making.

Under the guidance of your tutor you will also spend half the course getting hands-on experience with industry-leading laser equipment. You will produce a series of products that you will design and prepare artwork for during the software sessions, including business cards, toys, stencils, stamps and more.

By the end of the course you will have a deep understanding of the use of lasers in industry, their abilities and how to create the artwork needed to make the best use of them in your future creative projects.
