Underpinning knowledge

* Describe the chemical process involved in artificial nail systems

* Describe safety hazards associated with applying artificial nails

* Describe the structure, main functions, main diseases and disorders of nails

* State the names and position of bones of the hand.

Special Features: Assignments and tasks

· Assignment covering practical skills and underpinning knowledge.

· Related Anatomy and Physiology tasks

If you have not worked in the Beauty Industry or studied any other formal beauty or holistic qualifications, you will be required to achieve Working in the Beauty Industry units 201, 202, 203 on line distance learning and an on-line exam in college.

(A cost of £50 is required to cover the registration and exam fees)

You are required to wear a salon uniform or all black.

Course Format: Level 3 City and Guilds qualification

Progression: Students can progress on to short courses in Self Tanning, Nail Art, Facial, Make-up, Depilation, Lash and Brow treatments, Indian Head Massage and Body Massage.
