'AS' and 'A2' Level Chemistry

Duration: AS 1 year, A2 2 years
Course Level: Level 3
We live in an age of chemistry-based technology: our clothes, our food and our environment are all products of chemistry in action. This course will help students understand the way different substances behave and react with each other and how new products are developed.

What will I study?
During weekly class time, there is a mixture of class teaching, practical investigations, class discussions and group work. Wherever possible, students do practical work as a basis for their studies.

What next?
With a qualification in one or more of the Sciences you could go on to a further or higher education course in one of your subjects or, with a suitable combination of subjects, courses such as Engineering, Medicine, Dentistry, Veterinary Science and Environmental Science are possible. Alternatively, students are well-equipped to pursue careers in science-based industry or business.
