Why study Mathematics?
Mathematics has been studied for thousands of years, yet it is still a vital, vibrant and developing subject. It forms part of every aspect of modern life, for example in science, technology, business and commerce. It provides essential skills for dealing with the problems of the modern world. It gives users techniques for understanding and solving problems. It encourages the development of logical and enquiring minds.
There are good economic reasons for studying mathematics. This is probably the most marketable A-level in terms of acceptability. It is difficult to think of any course/career where it would not be welcomed in combination with other subjects.
