About this course
Students must have a minimum of 5 A-C individual GCSE subject passes, including a minimum of 2 grade Bs one of which must be English Language. Applicants will also have to attend an audition.

What is the course about?
This is an exciting and physical course providing you with advanced skills in choreography, performance and dance analysis. Students will engage in regular technique classes and choreographic workshops and also engage in critical thinking about dance. This is a fast-moving, varied course aimed at contributing to the next generation of 'thinking dancers'.
Will I need anything else?
For practical sessions you should have appropriate, comfortable clothing no jeans, combats, skirts etc. Dance shoes are fine but there will be times when you will be expected to work barefoot. For theory sessions you need to have pen, pencil, rubber and a ruler, an A4 pad and a file to keep all your notes and hand-outs together.
How long & often do I attend?
This course is offered as a 2 Year substantial programme and requires attendance of several lectures, practical sessions and workshops per week. Additional time will also need to be spent by the students to carry out project work and complete research. You will be required to attend a minimum of 90%. Students will be required to be flexible around performance dates.
How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed on the research and development of their work through external examination. You will also be assessed externally on your practical solo and group performances by a visiting examiner.
What opportunities will this lead to?
You could progress to a BA Hons degree in Dance or Performing Arts. Following this you could enter employment in performing, choreography, arts development, critical writing or teaching.
