You will learn basic production skills, how to create audio, video or print productions and use new technologies. This course develops your understanding of the ways in which the media work. You will study TV programmes, films, advertising, popular music.

You will gain an understanding of how media constructs an interpretation of the world and how the practical process of media production works. You will learn basic production skills, how to create audio, video or print productions and use new technologies.
This course develops your understanding of the ways in which the media work. You will study TV programmes, films, advertising, popular music and newspapers and the impact of the new technologies including the Internet.
You will study the ways in which the media industry works and how audiences receive and use the media products.
Other areas you may study include:

- Broadcast and film fiction
- Music and lifestyle and how these are presented across the media, for example, broadcasting and cinema, print media, digital/web based and emerging media.

What next?
A Levels are often used as a stepping stone to further education and university.
Your main opportunity for work experience is working within RNC's commercial recording sessions and during live performances in the College. External work placements are also possible and learners have previously been placed in radio/recording studios, theatres and music events all over the UK.
