At least 5 A* to C passes at GCSE (to include a Science)
A grade C or higher in GCSE PE, if this subject was taken

- I regularly participate in organised sport to club level
- I may want to go on to further studies involving some of the aspects studied, e.g. Sports Science, Leisure Management, Physiotherapy, Psychology.

Four units are studied, two in the first year for the AS
qualification, and two in the second year to complete the full
A-level. They deal with both theoretical and practical aspects:
· Unit 1 - Physiology/Skill Acquisition/Opportunities for participation (two-hour exam paper)
· Unit 2 - Practical performance as a performer, coach and official (practical and written assessment)
· Unit 3 - Exercise Physiology, Psychology and contemporary issues within sport (two-hour exam paper)
· Unit 4 -Practical Performance in a competitive situation (practical and written assessment).
- Two hour examinations in June for Unit 1 and Unit 3
- Practical and written assessment in Unit 2 and Unit 4 (internally assessed and externally moderated)
- Higher Education studies at university including Sports Studies/Science and teaching
