There are more than 3,000 deaths each year in the UK from asbestos related diseases and this number is expected to continue to rise. Thousands of tonnes of asbestos products were used in building construction in the past and much of it is still in place. Carpenters, electricians, plumbers and others doing maintenance or refurbishment works may be at risk where asbestos products are disturbed.
If you own or are responsible for the management of a workplace, whether a factory, warehouse or office which may contain asbestos products, you need to consider risks of exposure to people using, or doing works in the building. This half-day course will help you to identify, assess and manage asbestos products in your premises.
Cosensa uses a combination of scenarios and practical work to enthuse and inform its delegates. Cosensa trainers are chosen for their practical experience gained in real life situations and for their ability to inspire delegates.
This course is suitable for estates and building surveyors, facilities and property managers, architects and surveyors, planning supervisors and building services engineers.
All delegates who successfully complete this course will receive a certificate of attendance. The trainer for this course has extensive experience in design and delivery of health and safety training programmes and is qualified by NEBOSH (National Examination Board for Occupational Safety and Health) and Associate member of IOSH (Institute of Occupational Safety and Health) and is also a member of the Chartered Management Institute and the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management and the Association for Project Safety.
