COURSE CONTENT

NHS East of England is running an Aspiring Directors Development Programme.

The consortium of The Kings Fund, Cumberlege Connections, Frontline Consultants and Practive will continue to be the provider of the programme for 2009/10.

WHO IS THE PROGRAMME FOR?

  • Participants are nominated by their sponsoring organisations on the basis of their perceived potential and aspiration to both improve performance in their current role and to develop the skills and expertise to enable them to progress to more complex roles.
  • Applicants should aspire to becoming Directors within the next 1 to 3 years and should be able to demonstrate this, through both past performance and future potential.

EXECUTIVE SPONSORSHIP
The request for 4 nominations has been sent to Chief Executives and Directors of Human Resources in each organisation and the process of application and assessment will then be provided to all nominees.

PROGRAMME OVERVIEW
The programme provides a systematic approach to the diagnosis of development needs for individuals, and signposting to appropriate developmental opportunities according to identified needs and learning styles.
The principles that underpin the East of England Approach are that leadership development needs to:

  • recognise the different starting points and learning styles of individuals
  • link to service improvement and delivery
  • integrate development and learning between disciplines and professions
  • build on and complement existing leadership development opportunities.
