Assertiveness and Self-Confidence DevelopmentDo you avoid speaking out because you fear the reactions of others? Or perhaps you dread those meetings when you have to share your ideas? Maybe you’ve had an interview and wish you’d presented yourself more effectively? Did you know that there are techniques you can learn to help you become more confident and assertive at work? Our friendly trainer will introduce some of these techniques and enable you to:
- Assess your own level of assertiveness
- Understand the difference between passive, aggressive and assertive behaviour and ways of responding
- Recognise and interpret your own body language and that of others
- Improve your communication with colleagues
- Deal with criticism and aggression
- Practise assertiveness techniques through role playing
- Understand the effect of confidence and self-esteem in our relationships with others
- Identify behaviours which hinder and help our interactions with other people
- Complete a helpful feedback exercise
- Create an action plan to help you back at work
About this workshop
- This workshop will involve you in a mixture of interactive exercises and discussion. There will be opportunities to practise your new skills through role playing exercises in a supportive atmosphere
- Our trainers are experts in their topic and deliver courses in a practical, interactive style
- The maximum number of people on a training course is 12 so that the trainer can accommodate the learning needs of each delegate
- A two course buffet lunch and unlimited tea and coffee are included in the price
Timing
Courses start at 9.30am and end at 4.30pm with half an hour for lunch.

Judith is a supportive, motivational trainer who is passionate about helping individuals to develop their skills. She has extensive experience in training, coaching and developing people and focuses on helping others succeed and grow. Judith has a Certificate in Professional Coaching and has a MA (Hons) in Management Studies & Psychology

If your business is located in the West of Scotland you may be eligible for a grant of up to 50% of the cost of participating in these courses. There are a number of places available which are reserved for businesses with less than 250 employees and companies must meet certain eligibility criteria.

- We can customise this course for you if you have a particular challenge in your company. One of our specialist advisers will be happy to work on a solution with you. If you have a group of 12 people who need the same training customised learning is a cost effective way to develop them and costs can be as little as £100 per person.
