Course programme

Assertive people seem more confident, more able to get things done, they seem easier to identify with and to follow. This is why Assertiveness Skills are crucial for anyone who needs to be more effective in business and in their relationships at work.

The course looks at the characteristics of assertiveness and discriminates these very clearly from other forms of behaviour. Participants identify their current approach and learn exactly how to redress 'behavioural deficiencies' so as to maintain an assertive approach in an easy and relaxed manner.

This course will enable participants to:
  • Understand and define assertive behaviour
  • Appreciate and apply assertive behaviour skills at work
  • Address conflict issues using the three stage process
  • Develop interpersonal skills to deal effectively with people
  • Use rapport skills to deal with passive or aggressive people
  • Build stronger relationships with people in all situations
  • Establish and maintain credibility using positive language
  • Overcome objections tactfully and maintain good relations
  • Define and commit to an Assertiveness Skills Action Plan
