Assertiveness Skills for Managers

The Training Unit and Learning Centre provides informal and formal learning opportunities to enhance the skills, knowledge and confidence of individuals, voluntary organisations, community groups and volunteers.

Course Content

• Understand assertive behaviour and identify how it differs from passive or aggressive behaviour
• Identify why behaving assertively with staff can be challenging for managers and examine the consequences of non-assertive behaviour
• Develop a 'tool-kit' of assertiveness skills which will include tips for communicating clearly and saying 'no'
