Entry Requirements: Trainee Assessors will need to have experience and qualifications in the vocational area they wish to assess. They will also have access to at least two NVQ candidates at a level below their own qualification or experience. It may be possible for Leicester College to arrange access to NVQ candidates, dependant upon agreement from the relevant curriculum area.

Course Progression: On successful completion of the A1 award candidates will be able to work towards the full level 3 NVQ in Training and Development or (after a qualifying period) start to work towards a V1.

Careers Progression: On successful completion candidates will be able to assess NVQs in the workplace.

Course Description:
The programme is for candidates who want to assess NVQs. This is a single unit from a Level 3 NVQ in Training and Development. The programme length will vary according to each candidate, however the maximum duration is 12 months.

Description Breakdown:
The course is experiential in approach and skills are gained by carrying out assessments in a practical way. Trainee Assessors will be allocated an individual assessor who will guide them through the assessment process. It is expected that they will also be supported by the relevant NVQ candidates' assessor and Internal Verifier. They will have access to their NVQ candidates by using a minimum of four assessment methods.
The programme starts with an Induction that looks at the process and all assessment methods.
