The AAT qualification not only provides status and recognition for the technician role, but also gives a route to a qualification with Chartered Professional Accountancy bodies.

Assessment:
All levels are assessed by a combination of internal skills test and one external (computer-based exams) which the successful candidate must pass.

Course Leads To:
After completion of the Level 2 Certificate in Accounting, Level 3 Diploma in Accounting and Level 4 Diploma in Accounting, you will be a recognised qualified Accounting Technician. You will also be a part qualified accountant where you can use the AAT qualifications to obtain exemptions from CIMA, ACCA and CIPFA examinations.
Entry Requirements:
Students should have a good standard of literacy and numeracy and normally should possess 4 GCSEs at grade C/D or above, 2 of which must be English and Maths. Mature students may be accepted without these formal qualifications.

Level 3 Diploma in Accounting - One Year:
This is the first step of the ladder for people without "A" level qualifications or significant accounting experience. On this introductory course we provide tuition in basic accounting theory and practical subjects:

* Cash Management
* Costs & Revenues
* Indirect Tax
* Spreadsheets
The AAT's qualifications sit within the QCF in providing a competence based qualification. The QCF is a new way of recognising skills and achievement through the award of credit for units and qualifications. It aims to provide greater flexibility and choice to gaining full qualifications.
