Study Method:
The AAT qualification is combined with a National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) award at Levels 2, 3 and 4 thus furthering its overall value. The valuable role played by the Association and its Members is evidenced by the support and recognition given by over 40,000 employers in the UK and abroad. The AAT qualification not only provides status and recognition for the technician role, but also gives accounting technicians a route to qualification with Chartered Professional Accountancy bodies.
Duration :3 Terms: Sept 2009 to July 2010
2 Evenings: Tuesday & Thursday
Who the Course is For:
The AAT qualification is a highly regarded professional qualification that will enhance a persons career prospects.
Assessment:
At this stage, the 3 units offered are assessed externally which the successful candidate must pass.
Technician (NVQ Level 4)
3 central assessments
Course Leads To:
Completion of the core units for the AAT Technician NVQ4. These qualifications can be used to obtain exemptions from CIMA, ACCA and CIPFA examinations.
Entry Requirements:
Students must have achieved all AAT Foundation and Intermediate Units. Students who have achieved the HNC/NHD finance pathway will also be accepted.
Content:
The Technician Stage - Year Three:
This is the final stage of the AAT qualification and is primarily for those who have successfully completed the Intermediate stage. On this course students will cover some of the more advanced topics needed to achieve professional status.
*Unit 8 - Contributing to the management of performance and the enhancement of value
*Unit 9 - Contributing to the planning and control of resources
*Unit 11 - Drafting financial statements (accounting practice, industry and commerce).
