Course Aims:
To produce competent level 3 students in an accounting discipline.
To enable progression to NVQ4 in accounting and ultimately professional membership of the AAT.

Course Content:
Maintaining financial records and preparing accounts.
Recording cost information.
Preparing reports and returns.
Information technology and its application within the accounting environment.
Health and Safety at work.

Progression:
AAT NVQ level 4.

Exam:
Assessment is by means of a portfolio of work, skills tests during the year and end exams.

Qualification:
NVQ Level 3 in Accounting

Other Costs:
AAT one off admission fee 32, payable direct to AAT in September.
AAT annual registration fee 69, payable to AAT in September.
AAT exam fees 41 per exam payable direct to AAT in October and April. Please note these are the current fees for the year to August 2009

Entry Requirement
NVQ 2 in Accounting or other suitable Accredited Prior Learning. Also candidates that have a reasonable level of work experience in an accounting environment would be considered.
Candidates are required to have a sound level of both numeracy and English language skills.Candidates who do not have a grade C GCSE in English and / or Maths, will be required to complete a Literacy and / or Numeracy qualification to complete their course.
