Course programme
Health Care Assistants continue to take on new tasks. One area in which they could have an impact is linked to asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). The GMS contract targets specific areas relating to these diseases. The HCA could effectively assist the practice and their nurses to achieve these targets by developing their knowledge and skills, and having the ability to demonstrate to patients how to correctly use inhaler devices, volume spacer devices and peak flow monitoring.
