The course covers: Familiarisation with the machine and working parts. Pre-use checks & risk assessments. Controls & instruments. Start / Stop & steering. A Safe working area. Daily / weekly checks. Emergency stopping, failed hill climb. Ascent / Descent, Climbing. Implements, loads & limitations. Limitations. Practical demonstrations & safe use. Storage & transport. Legislative issues. Assessments are included at the end of each course. Suitable for: Anyone using a quad bike for work or leisure purposes HSE stipulate that ATV operatives require training.

Course programme
An introduction to the machine with details on its operation, safe use & maintenance requirements.
This is followed by an explanation and demonstration of the controls, limitations of the machine and guides to best practice.
All attendees will be expected to be able to operate the machine safely in a variety of conditions and to be assessed on their operating skills during the day.
Successful operators will be able to apply for their certificate & photo ID card at the end of the course.
1 to 2 days depending on experience, and number of trainees attending Novice and Experienced Operator/ Refresher training available
