Auditing IT Systems - Part 1

IT auditing is a specialised sub-set of the general audit process. As such the normal audit planning and procedural mechanisms apply and it is assumed that delegates will be aware of these standard processes. The thread of this two day course is therefore to consider the problems associated with providing assurance that the complex technological infrastructures and systems support the business in an effective way. The course is structured to cover the four main areas faced by an auditor when reviewing IT process

• The planning and organisation of the IT function
• The acquisition and implementation of IT systems
• The delivery and support of IT systems
• Monitoring and learning to enhance capability

This course can be extended to a three day programme by attending Auditing IT Systems - Part 2, which will cover cybercrime, computer forensics and data analytics in more detail.
