Objective of Course
This hands-on course covers many of the advanced features of AutoCAD Architecture 2009. Delegates learn how
to set up a project, create tool catalogs and styles and export to different output formats.
During the course delegates practice different installation setups, create new styles, edit section/elevation
objects, use AEC dimensions, display themes and mask blocks. This course is designed to teach advanced
AutoCAD Architecture concepts and applications.
Agenda
The primary objective of this course is to prepare delegates to perform many of the advanced functions of
AutoCAD Architecture.
During the course delegates will cover :
- Set up a project and use project standards.
- Create tool catalogs and use wall tools.
- Create object, feature, and layer key styles.
- Use AEC dimensions and multi-view blocks.
- Publish and export to several different formats,
including Autodesk MapGuide, 3D DWF & LandXML.
- Use object enablers and proxy graphics.

- Setting up a Project & standards
- Creating a Tool Catalog
- Editing a Keynote Database
- Using the Display System
- Using Layer Key Styles
- Defining Profiles
- Creating Wall Styles & End Caps
- Creating Door and Window Styles & Assemblies
- Creating Curtain Wall Styles & Roof Slabs
- Creating 2D Section/Elevation Object Styles
- Creating Schedule Styles & Tags
- Using Multi-View & Masks Blocks
Day 2
- Using Detail Components & Wall Tools
- Using the Stair Tower Generator
- Editing 2D Section/Elevation Objects
- Using AEC Dimensions, Spaces & Zones
- Using Relative Object Anchors
- Publishing DWF Files and to Autodesk MapGuide
- Linking to Autodesk VIZ Render
- Using Object Enablers and Proxy Graphics
- Importing LandXML
The above may be varied to suit client's preferences and requirements
Prerequisites
Before starting this course delegates should be able to add grids, fixtures, floors, walls, ceilings, roofs, doors,
walls and stairs to a building model. Delegates should also have created output that includes different views,
annotations, tables and legends. It is recommended that delegates have a working knowledge of Microsoft
Windows XP or Microsoft Windows Vista.
Qualifications
On completion of the course you will be presented with an Autodesk Authorised Training Certificate.
