This innovative and highly vocational degree programme has been designed collaboratively with local, national and international employers to provide the knowledge, skills and qualification requirements for higher Engineering Design and R&D roles within the Motorsport industry. Course programme

This BEng top-up is the Level 6 progression for students who have completed the Foundation Degree in Automotive Engineering and Technology (Motorsport). This Motorsport degree covers the aims of the QAA Benchmark Statement for Engineering and the learning outcomes are based on those published by the Engineering Council in the UK; the standard for professional Engineering competence (UK-SPEC).

The course is made up of three subject specific modules and a dissertation and further develops your knowledge and skills in areas previously studied at Level 5.

Level 6 - 120 credits

BEA1021 Dissertation - 40 credits
BEA1022 Dynamic Simulation - 20 credits
BEA1023 Alternative Power Sources - 20 credits
BEA1025 Race Engine Design Simulation & Analysis - 40 credits

Here you will investigate a number of major scientific principles within race engine design. The module will encompass all the main aspects of the industry-standard Gamma Technologies GT-Suite software package. The software and theories applied throughout this module will lead you towards the cutting edge of the competition engine design industry and provide you with the knowledge and skills required of a motorsport design and validation simulation engineer.
