Based at Leeds Bradford International Airport this programme is ideal for those wishing to pursue a career in the aviation industry or for those already employed in the aviation industry with a specific interest in studying for a Pilot’s Licence. Level 4 gives a grounding in the aviation industry. At Level 5 the Foundation Degree provides the theoretical knowledge for the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) Private Pilot’s License. Those wishing to make the extra financial commitment and pursue the practical experience they need can register formally with the CAA and complete the required flying training and hours alongside their Foundation Degree. The College has made special arrangements with two Flight Schools to welcome our students.

The tutors delivering the programme share a wealth of industry expertise, having previously held a variety of positions in the airline industry. Visiting speakers include senior personnel from the nearby airport, allowing students first hand advice on a career in aviation. The Aviation Academy offers high specification training suites along with a well-equipped learning centre and there is ample secure parking. The advantages of studying in such close proximity to Leeds Bradford International Airport encourages natural and productive links with major employers in the aviation industry.

Students are given an exclusive opportunity to gain employment with Swissport at Leeds Bradford International Airport whilst studying on the course.

Successful students may continue on to complete the BSc (Hons) (Top-up) Air Transport Management or an alternative Honours Degree qualification.
