This course replaces the old PTLLS award in September 2014. The new Award in Education and Training is now at Level 3 and no other variants are available in the future. The Award is now achieved by taking 3 units whereas the PTLLS course required you to complete 4 units of study. The content is very similar to the PTLLS and both are equal to 12 Credits on the QCF. The GLH is a min of 48hrs. If you have passed your PTLLS then you do not need to take the new Award. You are required to be observed via a 20 minute micro teaching session this doesn't have to be a professionally based teaching session. No attendance is required as all the assignments are completed online and using our Moodle a system that most colleges and universities use. Charges for observational visits are extra depending on the time spent and your location. Please call us to discuss your requirements.

No travel or attendance means that you also negate travel and attendance costs if you sign up for our course. The remainder of the course is via written assignments and you will be allocated a personal tutor to offer you mentoring and guidance throughout your time on the course leading you to a successful conclusion.

This is the new benchmark entry level teaching qualification in the UK and is a requirement for staff to obtain if they are going to teach or train in the workplace in 2014. For more details on how you can get your teaching career started at PCT2U please contact us to discuss further. This course has direct claims status so further to the companies stringent and robust IQA process we can issue your certificate direct from the NCFE.

What I would highlight: This course was very suitable for my needs, I was able to work it around my working hours, as currently I work a full time week. I did have a couple of obstacles at home during the time of my course, this did slow me down.
What could be improved: I did sometimes find the moodle system confusing, however with time this was fine. Overall it was a successful experience and I would consider online learning again.

What I would highlight: Some of the course questions were extremely open to different interpretations, especially unit 1 3.2 the teacher/professional boundaries. It took three attempts to get this question right. Mr Cook was very supportive and did direct me to the correct answer to this.
What could be improved: I did initially have problems finding the criteria for the units in the Moodle’s website. This was mainly due to me looking on the wrong page for the information and not scrolling down through all the information on the level three site page. This was resolved by Mr Cook emailing me a link.
Would you recommend this course?: Yes
