Description
The practical food safety in catering is a level 2 programme providing a nationally recognised qualification. The aim of the course is to provide you as a food handler with the knowledge to produce safe food both at work and at home. It is designed to do this without any previous knowledge.
Course Content
There are 6 mandatory units to study in order to successfully complete this course
· Food handlers responsibilities
· Personal hygiene requirements
· Food safety hazards
· Keeping food areas clean and hygienic
· Handling and storage of food
· Prepare, cook, hold and serve food safely
Where a course is aimed towards an assessment/examination, it is expected that all students will enter for the qualification.
Method of Assessment
Assessment is though the completion of activities, work books and assessments, which are marked and moderated by BCOT prior to certification.
