Course Description
All College First courses include Vocational studies, English, Maths and IT. You may be involved in additional activities, ie visits and trips. You will join an induction to help you settle and it may be possible to take more than one vocational option.Learners will experience a wide range of workshop practical activities, together with interesting classroom study sessions. Practical work will involve working on a range of motor vehicles and training rigs, using a variety of tools and equipment.

- Basic Vehicle Construction and Layouts
- Basic Vehicle Front Wheel Alignment
- Basic Removal and Replacement of Light Vehicle Clutches
- Basic Removal and Replacement of Light Vehicle Tyres and Exhaust Systems
- Basic Removal and Replacement of Light Vehicle Braking System Components
- Basic Removal and Replacement of Light Vehicle Suspension and Steering System Components
- Basic Testing of Vehicle Charging Systems and Removal and Replacement of Batteries

Assessment: A range of methods will be used, including phase tests, practical assessment, external tests and production of a portfolio of work.
Progression Routes: You can continue your studies on to a vocational course at Level 2, or choose to pursue employment in a garage repair or fast-fit establishment. The Certificate in Vehicle Fitting Operations Level 2 provides a natural progression route from this course
