Year 3
In your final year you can continue with an equal study or major/minor route. A further option in the final year is named route study. If you have chosen a major/minor route in Year 2, then you could choose to focus solely on your major subject in your final year, leading to a BA (Hons) History or BA (Hons) Politics degree.
Studies in history currently include the cold war 1945-91; nations and nationalism: Europe 1789-1915; from pirates to princes: the Normans and medieval Europe 900-1250; and studies in slavery. Politics units cover topics such as political theory; US politics and foreign policy; international security; conflict and terrorism, the politics of Islam; the politics or arts and culture and British politics.
You will also complete a final year project or dissertation. If you take equal study you can choose to do this unit in either history or politics. If you are taking a major or named route, this unit will come from the relevant subject.
