Year 1
In Year 1 you will be introduced to the techniques, materials and processes used in the dental laboratory. You will make a range of devices in the key areas of complete and partial dentures, fixed prosthodontics and orthodontics. You will also study dental materials and biosciences to relate the technical procedures and processes with the relative scientific theory.

Year 2
In Year 2 you will study the structure, properties and behaviours of dental materials. You will look at the effects of ageing, dental diseases, the bones and muscles of the skull, and study ceramic crowns, orthodontics, complete dentures, dental pathology and metallic partial dentures.

Year 3
In Year 3 (or Year 4 of the four year sandwich route) you will undertake a research project and study further dental materials, dental crowns, quality assurance and professional studies. You will also work with clinical dental students at the University of Manchester as part of a team treating patients who need dentures.
