Similar to our BA (Hons) Festival & Event Management, this route allows you to specialise in French, German, Spanish or English as a Foreign Language. Festival and event management is a global business. Our Joint Honours course combines a sound knowledge of the dynamic field of festival and event management with studying languages to give you a head start in dealing with international clients and artists, putting you a step ahead in your career. You’ll benefit from studying in the heart of a city rich in culture and creative industries. Events, tourism and hospitality businesses flourish here so you’ll have plenty of opportunities to gain industry experience and make contacts via live project and part-time work. You’ll also have the opportunity to study abroad through our international exchange links. You'll develop practical event management skills as well as a broad range of management techniques that can be applied to other industries. You'll also gain transferable skills in research, academic writing, communication and interpersonal relations, presentation and time management. This course is studied full-time over four years. You'll learn by a variety of teaching methods including lectures, tutorials and independent study. We offer tuition that is supported by highly experienced teaching staff and strong industry links. It is also possible to choose to Study Abroad for a whole year. Only students whose main language is English as a Foreign Language may, with the agreement of the programme leader, choose to remain at Edinburgh Napier during the Study Abroad period. You would then study the appropriate English as a Foreign Language module plus another two modules.
