Course programme

Graphic design has to adapt to social, technological, economic and political change, so this course has been designed to be responsive to the latest trends. Studio-based projects are at the centre of your studies, with ongoing tutorials, formative feedback sessions and project reviews across the year.

How you learn

This course is part of the Sheffield Institute of Arts — our creative community within Sheffield Hallam.You learn about the core principles of graphic design and its application across a range of sectors and have the opportunity to explore advertising, packaging, motion, user experience design or graphic design. The path you choose can be reflected in your award title, such as BA (Honours) Graphic Design: Motion, so you can easily communicate your strengths to prospective employers when you graduate.

Applied learning

You will have the opportunity to arrange a year-long work placement in between your second and third years. This gives you a real-world experience to prepare you for your future career.
