Course introduction: Accounting is about so much more than crunching numbers.  On this joint degree course, you’ll develop your knowledge and skills in accounting, human resource management and business. You’ll learn and develop a combination of accounting, finance, human resource management and other business skills including accounting techniques and policies relating to corporate finance, tax, auditing, corporate governance, management accounting, corporate reporting and statistics.  You’ll also learn to use and apply relevant IT systems and acquire knowledge of law, economics and the business environment.  Accredited by major UK accounting institutes, this highly regarded course will prepare you for a range of careers in accounting or further study.

Course programme

All our Joint Honours Accounting degrees involve the same compulsory accounting modules but concentrate your option choices into a specialised route. This is a full-time course studied over four years. You’ll study six modules over two trimesters per year. On successful completion of Year 3, you'll be eligible for an unclassified degree, and on successful completion of Year 4, an Honours degree. The course is also available on a part-time basis which involves fewer than six modules per year but takes longer to complete. You’ll learn by a variety of teaching methods including lectures, tutorials, workshops, directed learning and independent study. We offer tuition that is supported by experienced teaching staff and strong industry connections. Guest speakers from the corporate, government and financial worlds add value to the course. In addition, transferable skills of time management, project management, communication, collection and management of data and IT skills will serve you well in the future, whatever your career choice.
