BA (Hons) Languages and Intercultural Communication

Your language skills will be developed through spoken and written communication, role-plays and presentations, including business presentation and negotiation. You’ll gain a good understanding of intercultural theory and its applications. You’ll study abroad for one year at one of our partner institutions, gaining valuable personal and professional experience while refining your language skills, with the aim to achieve fluency for business purposes. This is a full-time course studied over four years. You’ll learn by a variety of teaching methods including lectures, tutorials and independent study. You’ll spend one year studying abroad. Year 1 Language A Language B An Introduction to Discourse, Language and Society Intercultural & Organisational Management Year 2 Language A Language B or An Introduction to Chinese Culture and Language Understanding European History and Politics for the st Century Language B or Intercultural Competence through Mandarin Exploring Culture Year 3 One Year Study Abroad Year 4 Language A Communication in International Management Dissertation Intercultural Dialogue through Translation Your main language (English as a Foreign Language, French, German or Spanish) must be studied throughout the course.
