How will I be assessed?

Assessment is through practical and written work, including essays, portfolios, seminar presentations, studio and computer based projects, workshop performances and full scale performances. All practice demands theoretical justification, so most modules will require either a piece of writing or an oral presentation. Students are required to reflect upon their learning in each assessment and summarise their development regularly. There are no formal written examinations as part of the current assessment methods on this programme.

Who will be teaching me?

The programme will be taught by specialists in the area of music composition, songwriting, music production, music theory and music education. All teaching staff are research active across these fields. Teaching is delivered by colleagues in Media and Performing Arts, supported by music practitioners and technical staff, together with part-time industry professionals and academic specialists, offering a wide range of learning experiences and music industry networking.
