Course programme

Through this work-based course, we’ll give you a professional approach to performance, alongside industry-specific knowledge, thinking, and practical skills. You’ll review, consolidate, extend and apply your knowledge, alongside initiating projects around your specialisms. During the course you’ll form a production company with your peers, engaging with professional venues to produce two small-scale tours of your work.

We combine practice with theory. You’ll develop a sound understanding of the theoretical and cultural frameworks that surround the performing arts. An independent research project enables you to develop advanced research skills, exploring an area of interest around contemporary genres or developments in performance practice.

You’ll graduate with highly effective interpersonal skills, so you can develop and maintain professional working relationships. We’ll introduce you to networking and business skills, including marketing, personal profiling, production and delivery, preparing you for a successful career in the performing arts.

Course assessment

This course is assessed through public performance events, an independent research project, production and performance files, personal development planning, presentations, and essays.
