BA (Hons) Product Design (Furniture)

This course develops creativity by exploring the design of space, form and structure. Design, craft, industrial production and the use and purpose of furniture for public and private environments, are studied. This course also focuses on aesthetics, human factors and the creative opportunities essential to furniture design. The extensive use of research and conceptual design processes enables students to adopt and adapt current best practice, while investigating the possibilities of new methods and thinking associated with design. Suitable for: Design graduates may progress to a wide range of careers-either as freelances designers or as a part of design consultancy. They may work within a specialist field, such as a multimedia, or within a multi - disciplinary team. There are many opportunities within design. Graduates have also a taken up careers in graphic design, architectural practices, advertising, media and project management. Others have gone on the further studies.
