About this course

You will graduate with the skills, knowledge and practical experience required to make a highly effective contribution to the contemporary sports management and coaching industries. You will be well placed to progress into a career in sports management, coaching and/or performance analysis. Alternatively, you may wish to train to teach or proceed onto Masters level study.

Optional modules provide an element of choice within the programme curriculum. The availability of optional modules may vary from year to year and will be subject to minimum student numbers being achieved. This means that the availability of specific optional modules cannot be guaranteed. Optional module selection may also be affected by timetabling requirements.

International students enrolling on the programme in academic year 2017/18 are £11,575 per annum.

How will I be assessed?

Assessments are both individual and team-based and enable you to develop your presentation skills through applied management and coaching tasks. These tasks will include the writing of essays and project reports, critical appraisals of development strategies, evaluations of management and coaching practices, preparation of poster presentations, planning and delivery of practical sessions, and undertaking a piece of original independent research. There are no formal written examinations as part of the current assessment methods on this programme.

The programme team are also involved in national and international research projects that influence the way sport is coached, developed and managed. They will ensure you receive cutting edge knowledge, combined with vital practical experience, to prepare you for the world of work.
