Entry to the course is by audition only and is highly selective, with limited numbers. This affords each student a high level of tuition which will enhance individual development.

BA Modern Ballet
Introduction
In partnership with Scottish Ballet
Delivered in partnership with Scottish Ballet, Scotland's award winning national dance company, this exciting and unique new undergraduate programme is aimed at students with the physical and artistic potential to pursue a professional performing career.
Students will be trained to the high standards required of the modern ballet companies of today. In order to achieve this, classes covered will include professional technique (classical ballet and contemporary dance), pas de deux, repertoire, choreography and a range of supporting subjects (including pilates, gyrotonics and gyrokinesis). There will be a close working relationship with Scottish Ballet throughout the course.
Preliminary auditions will be held in Jan/Feb 2010. Final auditions in March 2010.
The combination of the specialist facilities, resources and knowledge of the RSAMD combined with the artistic input and guidance of Scottish Ballet, makes this an excellent opportunity for gifted students who wish to pursue a career in professional dance.

Course Details
At all stages, the physical and academic elements of dance will be combined to ensure students have a clear understanding of dance heritage and the ability to put into context the dance work they are performing, giving each student a uniquely individual appreciation of the choreography.
