Professional placement
A six-month professional hospitality placement is a key feature of the course and counts as four core units of the degree. This may be completed in Australia or overseas. Recognition of formal and non-formal learning Credit may be awarded to a student for formal learning (gained through full or partial achievement of an accredited qualification or course) or non-formal learning (that takes place through a non-accredited course or program of learning) completed at Southern Cross University or in other learning settings in Australia and/or overseas. Recognition of informal learning Credit may be awarded on the basis of current informal learning (that takes place through work, social, family or leisure activities). Table of contents Course requirements Schedule of units Course progressions Course requirements To be eligible for the award of the Bachelor of Business in Hotel Management degree a candidate shall successfully complete not less than twenty-four (24) units (288 credit points) comprising: all units listed in Part A; and three (3) units from Part B; or three (3) other units acceptable to the Course Coordinator. To be eligible for the award of Associate Degree of Business in Hotel Management degree a candidate shall successfully complete no less than sixteen (16) units (192 credit points) from Part A. To be eligible for the award of the Diploma of Hotel Management a candidate shall successfully complete no less than eight (8) units (96 credit points) from Part A. A candidate in the Bachelor of Business in Hotel Management who has completed the requirements for the Associate Degree of Business in Hotel Management may elect to be awarded the Associate Degree of Business in Hotel Management following withdrawal from the candidature for the Bachelor Degree. A candidate in the Bachelor of Business in Hotel Management who has completed the requirements for the Diploma of Hotel Management may elect to be awarded the Diploma of Hotel Management following withdrawal from the candidature for the Bachelor Degree.
