The Bachelor of Environmental Systems is your first step in the journey. This unique, three-year course addresses the tensions and energies of ecosystems. You’ll develop skills across a variety of science disciplines with a focus on finding solutions to our biggest environmental challenges, including climate change, food security, water management and carbon emissions.
After laying down a solid foundation in the fundamentals of plant sciences, hydrology, geomorphology, soil science and atmospheric-biospheric interactions, you will be able to specialise in one of two streams: Agricultural Systems or Natural Terrestrial Systems. There’s an exciting option to complete part of your degree at an overseas university via our International Specialisation program. You might also choose to pursue your particular passion by completing an Honours research project as an added fourth year.
Qualifications from our faculty are so highly regarded that many students have accepted jobs well before they graduate. And this course is no exception. Your Bachelor of Environmental Systems will open the doors to a wide range of exciting fields including environmental consultancy, catchment management, climate change research, plant breeding, ecology, environmental protection, sustainable agriculture, soil science, land and water conservation and hydrology. That is, jobs where you will be a key player in protecting the world’s resources.
