About Bachelors (Honours) in Business Management (12 months)
The BA (Honours) Business Management (BABM) has been designed to help you develop your career as a business manager and to prepare you for increased responsibility in your workplace. The overall programme aim is to develop knowledge and understanding to analyse, evaluate and take responsibility for administration systems and processes that make an effective contribution to business performance.
The programme modules require you to develop your existing knowledge and skills by:
- Examining your personal effectiveness as a business manager
- Considering how you can contribute to improved performance management in your workplace
- Taking a more strategic perspective on your own and your organisation’s objectives
The process of development will enable you to look at your job role and career development from new perspectives and provide you with ideas and insights that will help you to contribute more effectively to your organisation’s performance.
Modules
Unit 1 - Personal Effectiveness
Unit 2 - Contemporary Issues in Administration and Management
Unit 3 - The modern organisational context
Unit 4 - Organisational Culture and Change Management
Unit 5 - Research Project
Assessment
Each program module (except the research project) is assessed by a three hour examination. You must pass all four modules before starting work on the research project with your supervisor.
Examinations are your opportunity to demonstrate the knowledge and skills you have developed in each module. If you have prepared well, reading and reflecting on the study materials, you should have nothing to fear when the examination day arrives.
You will be expected to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the key theories, concepts and models from the modules in your examinations. At undergraduate level, you must be able to apply and evaluate knowledge – it is not sufficient to learn theories and simply reproduce them from memory in your examinations.
In order to ‘practice’ analysis and application of the study material to the required standard, you are required to submit a formative assignment in each module. This will help you to understand the requirements of study in the final year of a UK undergraduate degree. You will be given detailed feedback to help you in your examination preparations. Final assessment for your award is by:
- Module examinations
- The research project. A major piece of work of 13,000 (maximum) words.
Notes
- Tuition fees and Term Dates are subject to change at anytime.
- IELTS 5.5 minimum is required for the above courses.
