Course Description
Throughout the course you will need to be highly motivated. On a Work-based Learning programme you will normally attend College one day per week to complete the theory part of your NVQ and your Key Skills. Day release is normally a Tuesday ora Wednesday 9am-5pm. Your practical work will usually be assessed at your salon but this can also be done at College when necessary. Your assessor will review your progress periodically by appointment with yourself and your placement mentor.

Level 2 Work-based Apprenticeship learners will have to undertake a period of initial assessment, including a vocational aptitude test, and achieve between 50% and 70% in both Literacy and Numeracy Level 1 diagnostic tests.

Attendance Modes: Day
Assessment: Assessed through observation of practical skills, oral questioning and tests. You will also need to build a portfolio of evidence. Assignments/Workpacks will provide evidence associated with your practical skills and are essential to complete each unit .
Progression Routes: Further study at Level 3 Barbering Employment can lead into hairdressing/barbering, Artistic Director, Product Demonstrator, Sales Representative.
