What is the course about?
To provide awareness of what counselling is, to look at the very basic skills used and to look at self awareness.

What are the course outcomes?
To identify the three core conditions of person centred counselling.
Recognise the difference between open/closed and leading/loading questions.
Understand the difference between highly, moderate and non empathic statements.
Understand the basics of the skills of paraphrasing and reflecting.
Understanding the importance of confidentiality.
To recognise your own feelings.

Are there any additional requirements?
Materials
Paper and Pen.

How will you be assessed?
There is no formal assessment, but a student will be awarded a certificate for this course provided he/she has attended at least 80% of the sessions.

Is there an examination fee?
No.
