There are no formal requirements to attend Pie 'n' Mash Films Borstals. You may have a great camcorder that is only shown the light of day at Xmas, on holidays or at weddings and special occasions – why not learn how to utilise your creativity to make films good enough for Festivals and Distribution.

Sounds a lot but you CAN do it. It is the intention of Pie ‘n’ Mash Films that all students (whether curious or serious) finish the course with a mixture of basic and progressive knowledge of filmmaking, that they may develop their own unique style.
All students will have the opportunity to speak one on one with Film Producer, Director, Cameraperson, Actors, Directors PA, Distributor, Writer, Editor and Marketing Specialist.
At the end of a specified amount of courses a Documentary film will be edited from all footage filmed. This Documentary will be called NO BULLSHIT FILMMAKING (working title) this Documentary will be presented to major network and digital TV broadcasters, so you could well find yourself on TV
Don’t expect ‘luvies’ around Pie ‘n’ Mash Films, our studio, methods, approach and tutors are gritty and raw. (Strong language is part of our expressive culture). Don’t be daunted by your dream; we’re real people just like you and want to share the realistic and achievable filmmaking knowledge that we have acquired over the last twelve years.
Once your booking is received and confirmed each student will be given DVD copies of Lunatic, The Blunderers, and Billy and Lilly go to New York. (Three feature films produced by Pie ‘n’ Mash Films) This is to provide you with a flavour of our work and style. All students will be required to study the history of Pie ‘n’ Mash Films via our website. (The first question Bill will ask on the course is what do you know and think Pie ‘n’ Mash Films is all about?)
