Calculating tube diameters. Correct selection of pipe size. Correct layout of system. Insulation requirements. Fixing positions. Assessing suitability of incoming services. Producing working drawings to enable fabrication. Positioning components, 2 radiators, boiler jig & bathroom sink plus associated pipe work. Copper tube fabrication skills. Economic use of materials. Commisioning and decommisioning heating and hot & cold water systems. Sterilisation of pipework, static pressure, working pressure, flow rate, temperature & test certificates, leaks etc. Rectification of faults found. Suitable for: Week 1: City & Guilds 6022-2 Copper Tube Advice and Installation Scheme - Domestic Installation. This first week will concentrate on choosing, designing and installing copper tube for domestic installation, including pipework sizing, fitiings and jointing for both heating and hot & cold water systems. Week 2: City & Guilds 6032 - 1,2,3,4 Sanitary Domestic Installation & Design. The second week concentrates on designing, fitting and maintaining sanitary installations. The course covers all parts of the City & Guilds 6032.
