About this course

This course would be enjoyed by students of all ages and abilities who wish to make personal items to wear or for a gift. Beads and components are very small, it would be therefore be an advantage if students enjoyed any kind of close work and can exercise a greater degree of patience. The work is fiddly requiring a high level of dexterity but is not difficult.

Beaded Jewellery
Summary
Learn basic stringing techniques to create personalised jewellery items.
About the Course
During the morning you will be taught simple techniques which will provide you with the skills to produce wearable items of Jewellery with endless possiblities to make more with bead variations.
We will discuss materials, tools and where to purchase your beads including ebay.
The Project - Floating Necklace
Students will thread a simple necklace on nylon using crimps, lightweight beads or pearls which are spaced apart to create an open effect.
Materials are included in the course fees.

This is an introduction for anyone interested in making beaded jewellery.
What are the entry requirements?
How is the course assessed?
No formal assessment. It is expected that students will complete their project in class, however finishing techniques will be taught in class in case students need to complete their projects at home.
Are there any resources to obtain?
Materials will be provided on the day. If students have their own tools they are welcome to bring them along, but if not, there will be pliers available for use on the day.
