Beauty NVQ Level 2
This course is aimed at those with an interest in the beauty industry. It is a hands-on practical course. Students will develop skills in manicure, pedicure, facials, eye treatments and waxing. Treatments will be carried out in a realistic working environment. A portfolio of coursework is part of the assessment.

What does the course involve?
Students develop their practical skills in a realistic commercial environment while studying related theory and key skills.

What will I study?
The mandatory modules you will study include health & safety, promotion of products and services and development of your effectiveness at work. Other units to be studied include improvement and maintainance of facial skin condition, eyelash and eyebrow treatments, waxing techniques, manicure and pedicure treatments and a make up module. In addition, the following theoretical topics are included; anatomy and physiology, skin conditions and contraindications, skin disorders and diseases.

You will also study a service sector for receptionists qualification which will enhance your salon skills.

Is there a large amount of theory involved?
In order to be sucessful in this course, the study of anatomy and physiology and other beauty related theory is essential.
