Beauty NVQ 3 demands a very high level of judgement in prescribing treatments in an integrated way which are selected as a result of diagnosis. Students will have been successful in their NVQ 2 studies.

What does the course involve?
Assessments are through practical performance and oral questions. Theory is covered by written questions and students build a portfolio to include treatment plans, case studies and assignments. Work experience is part of this course and students work in a commercial salon in the College.

What will I study?
Mandatory modules include maintenance and improvement of services to clients, financial aspects of business, health, safety and security, use of mechanical and electrical treatments to improve facial and body condition, body massage, aromatherapy and epilation. The Anatomy & Physiology Diploma is a required part of this course and is studied alongside the specialist beauty therapy units.

What are the entry requirements for Beauty NVQ Level 3?
You should only apply for this course if you meet, or expect to meet, the following requirements:-

• You will have passed an NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in Beauty

• Examination at the end of each unit/module

• Portfolio of evidence
• Observation
