About the course:
This is a one-year course designed to provide a comprehensive training in Beauty Therapy at Level 3.

Course Content:
You will cover Head & Body Massage, Facial Electrical, Health & Safety, Business, aromatherapy using pre-blended oils and indian head massage.

during the year you will be able to attend our industry week and learn additional skills such as microdermabrasion, self tan.

Learning Style:
All learning styles are catered for with a mixture of practical, written, observed and study methods

Equipment Requirements:
You will be required to wear suitable salon wear, which consists of a Black tunic and trousers, black salon shoes, discounted salon clothing is available from us. If you would like a form please ask. These are available from the College suppliers, order forms will be given to you on successful completion of the interview process. Please ensure that you collect the order forms for the above items from the Information & Guidance office, and order before the start of the course.

Assessment:
assessment is by observation, written work and internally marked exams. students build a portfolio of evidence.

Progression:
You may progress onto the Advanced Beauty Specialist Diploma, add to your industry skills by attending such part-time Courses in Stone Therapy, Reflexology or progress onto the Level 4 Higher Professional Diploma in Technical Salon Management. Or you may chose to work in beauty salons, cruise ships or health clubs or Spas.

Additional Information:
You will be expected to provide models for your practical assessments who will be expected to contribute to the cost of consumables. You will be required to complete an externally set end of unit assessment papers. All students will benefit from a work experience placement.

Enrolment Instructions:
An interview is required for this course. Late enrolments will not be accepted later than 3 weeks after the start date.

It should be noted that a good standard of physical health is required as beauty therapy can be physically demanding. certain skin conditions may be affected by this type of work.
