There are no entry qualifications required but a genuine interest in the subject area is essential.
You will need to purchase a uniform for approx £72 and a kit for £31.00 (Order forms available from the college).

NVQ Level 1
About the Course
Unit G1 enables you to work safely in the salon and to identify and evaluate hazards risks in the workplace.
Unit G2 â€" teaches you the basic skills needed to maintain the reception area attend to client enquiries and make appointments. You will gain background knowledge in salon and legal requirements, means of communication, as well as salon services, products and pricing.
Unit BT1 â€" enables you to work alongside a level 2 therapist, preparing and maintaining the beauty therapy area. You will learn how to prepare the work area for waxing/sugar, lash, brow, make up, manicure, pedicure and facial treatments.
You will also be able to carry out client consultation.
Unit B2 this unit enables you to carry out a mini facial. You will learn about the different products used for skin care, how to carry out a skin analysis and identify different skin types. You will also learn the structure and function of the skin.
Unit B3 â€" enables you to learn how to carry out basic manicures and the products and equipment used. You will learn about the structure and function of the nail and how different treatments affect the nail
Unit BT13 â€" Is a level 2 unit which will be optional. This unit will give you the skills to decorate the nail using basic techniques of nail art.
Course Aims

You will work in a specialist work area containing cubicled treatment areas, reception area, dedicated classroom and seated treatment room.

No Course Fees for Under 19's. Over 19's must pay, or claim Level 2 or Level 3 Entitlement for FREE courses .
